Guest guest
I mother called my clinic today inquiring about acupuncture and herbology treatment for hidradenitis suppurativa. Her daughter is age 17, has been having flareups in the groin area for two years, with a frequency of q. 2 mo. with no identifiable triggers.. Please share any clinical experience you may have with this, along with TCM patterns that tend to coincide with this western diagnosis. Thanks. Guest guest
I saw this once, it manifested mostly along the flanks and I treated it as damp heat in the Liver/GB channels. Long Dan Xie Gan Tang helped with the itching, pain, exudate, etc. Although the patient reported improvement, financial problems became an obstacle to her ability to remain with the herbal treatment and I can't say how long the positive effect lasted.
