Guest guest
Here is a ring light suggestion to improve results: Ring lights are wonderful to providing soft light at close range without glare or harsh shadows BUT it is this very soft quality that makes them poor for revealing textures and contours. Try covering half of the unit with a white translucent material to reduce it's out put slightly(experiment for best results). Because you'll be at fixed distance to tongue or ear you should consistent results pretty quickly. Nikon or Calumet sells differential diffusers for ring lights but you can also get nice results with white drafting tape. You can also you opaque tape in a patch work.
