DAOM program disappointment -clarification

Dear group,

 

Allow me to clarify what may have been perceived as a hurtful comment in my

previous post concerning the Korean students at Samra. Please know that what I

wrote was never with any pejorative intention. Rather, at Samra, as at many

schools, there are separate English and Korean Master's tracks. The DOAM

program was a year(at least) in the planning and was internally publicized as

being a Sunday program, unique among the DAOM programs. Though the Samra Korean

program director knew of that, and mentioned that some of his students would not

be happy with Sundays, the extent of that sentiment was not known to the DAOM

administration until the interview process. All along, until the last minute,

that was the plan, and that was how I (as well as others, too, I would assume)

prepared my scheduling until the rug was pulled out from under me. I only

mentioned the Koreans as I felt their Master's program director should have

shown greater responsibility by proactively

entering the dialogue with his students and the Doctoral planners. I accept,

at this point, the change with equinimity and will now do the one thing that I

can: plant seeds and hope that some of them blossom. So again, if any of you

are interested in pursuing a DAOM on Sundays only, or if any of you are involved

in the administration of another program and would be able to accommodate my

Sabbath observance, I would be most grateful for you to contact me.
