Guest guest
Has anyone had any success treating genital warts with Chinese herbs? External and internal formulas? Thanks, David Russell, L.Ac.
Guest guest
Here is a site that discusses dealing with herpes and genital warts. http://www.herbnet.com/ask%20the%20herbalist/asktheherbalist_questions %20on%20STDs.htm Even mentions some Chinese herbs, but orients the reader to a whole health approach. Since garlic is a powerful viruscide, one can take a peeled clove (perhaps score it slightly) and wrap in a bit of gauze tied together with a string, and insert vaginally. Can be applied over night or just for a couple hours at a time, as preferred or tolerated. One would do this several days in a row. After removal one can then apply vitamin A to the area affected, if accessible and/or douching with yoghurt or intestinal flora in water. ann On Jun 9, 2007, at 4:36 PM, David Russell, L.Ac., CMT wrote: > Has anyone had any success treating genital warts with Chinese herbs? > External and internal formulas? > > Thanks, > > David Russell, L.Ac. > >
Guest guest
Does anyone know when CM conclusively recognized the sexual transmission of STDs? The earliest reference I can find is 1264 CE in the Southern Song dynasty text ren zhai zhi zhi fang lun. After the arrival of syphilis, there is a far more extensive description in the Jing Yue Quan Shu, written in 1624 CE. But I don't know of any strong references before these texts and I'd be interested to hear of more if there are any. The Shang Han Za Bing Lun mentions sexual contact as a means of spreading disease, but it appears to reference contagious disease transmitted by close personal contact rather than STDs per se.
