Guest guest
Here is protocol I recommend that works for a lot of people. Trim the nail back as much as possible. If the nail is severely thickened or ingrown see a podiatrist for this. Apply generous twice-daily application of tea tree oil. As the nail grows, lightly upbraid the entire surface with a file every few days to allow penetration of the tea tree oil. You need to be careful about detritus from the filing so as not to spread the fungus. Same goes for the nail file. You can always use disposable emery boards. I use Dr. Joseph Yang's Tinea Savior for internal medicine with Bai Xian Pi and Hai Tong Pi. This formula is great for fungal conditions and variety of itchy damp heat and toxic skin lesions. xiushantang (Dr. Joseph Yang). Guest guest
Just FYI: There was an ongoing discussion of toenail fungus on this group in May of 2005, and before that in Aug/Sept of '04, if anyone wants to check back. ann On Jun 10, 2007, at 12:43 PM, yangchi125 wrote: > Here is protocol I recommend that works for a lot of people. Guest guest
I used to give Tu Jin Pi liniment to patients and it seemed to work very well. I'm sure it was mostly salicylic acid plus or minus some other things. There were / are two kinds, one is dark colored and one is almost clear. The dark one stains the whole nail. I'm not sure if just garlic under the nail wouldn't be more effective.
