It is not for skin contact, imo. Also, when used as a cleaning agent (NOT on skin) against bacteria/virus/-bacteria/-virus/<WBR>-etc., usually only a 10% solution is normal settings - a 50/50 ratio applied to skin seems extreme to me. Joy Hi Joy, The idea of not coming into contact with bleach is a fine idea. But consider this question. Do you shower in municipal water? If so, you are coming in contact with bleach. And lots of it. I was amazed when I moved from my house in the country with well water to the city. The first shower I took I felt like I had just covered myself in chemicals that coated my body rather than bathed myself clean. After doing some research I found that most city water is laden with toxins and the levels of bleach is similar to what you will find in a pool. Yucky. Anyhow, the 50/50 solution I am suggesting is using standard household bleach which is only 5% to start with. After you mix it down, it is only 2.5% or so. Given that it is going on a toe and not over the whole body, I am willing to bet you will absorb less chlorine from that toe than you do in the shower in the morning. I can understand how my suggestion could seem extreme, but I think after further consideration, you will find that the total amount of exposure is really quite low. Considering the effect of the fungus and the fact that we bath in chlorine daily anyway, I will stick with my suggestion. All the best, Chris ************-*********-*********-******** See what's free at HYPERLINK " http://www.aol.com. " http://www.aol.-com. Guest guest
I found a couple of studies through medline that said it was not useful as a preventative, but they were very small and not randomized.
