Hello all,

Been away for awhile getting thing set up. Can anybody help me with

information on DVT's and Pulmonary Embolisms? Patient who is middle aged, past

history of cancer(radical surgery, no radition or chemo and no lymph

involvement. No reoccurence for 7 + years), over weight(typical damp s/s),

swollen tooth marked tongue thin to normal coat and color, red tip; Pulse very

deep, leisurely; HTN(on triamt/hctz), taking 81mg asprin/day, finished with

warfarin 4 months ago as ultra sound looked great. DVT was in location of

kickboxing injury, possible resulting from kickboxing injury a couple of years

ago. Found the P.E. by asking for a CT scan of lungs(unremitting cough) with

yearly cancer check. Recently had a prolonged cough and would like to try

holistic methods for a change. Can any body add some ideas/theories and refer

any books on the topic and suggest formulas to start with?

Is there a TCM theory that explains why cancer patients tend to develop

embolisms? Uresolved toxic heat, latent heat?

Thank You

Jeffrey S Smith

Jeffrey,

western medicine would say the reason is that they are

hypercoagulable- because of tumor secreted factors and

alterations in the endothelial tissue- so does that

equal blood stasis from blood xu in CM? or yin stasis

from yin xu? Toxic heat clumping the blood?, blood

dryness?- all of the above depending on the patient?
