Guest guest
Hi, I am wondering what success anyone has had treating ovarian endometriomas with internal and/or external chinese herbal formulas? My patient is in her early 30s and presents with what appears via ultrasound to be a 2.5 cm endometrioma on her right ovary. Most likely she has had the endometrioma since she was in her teens, as she occassionally has noticed some ovulation pain on that side, nothing severe, however. She is trying to get pregnant and her Western doctors have indicated that surgically removing the endometrioma might make conceiving easier. It seems to me that surgery for this size endometrioma would be a last resort, as it would certainly leave scar tissue. At what point would surgery be indicated? Do dietary changes, such as switching to a macrobiotic diet, tend to help reduce the size of endometriomas in addition to improving any other endometriosis that might be present? I would be grateful for any insight or experience anyone has with this condition. Thanks! Kelley McDaneld
