Guest guest
I have recently seen a few requests for practitioners to treat people suffering with ALS. But this degenerative disease poses a question for me, which I am hoping someone might shed light on: Is there a concurrent degeneration of the sensory neurons? And if so, would a modality like acupuncture be useful? I am thinking about a separate instance, if a patient receives acu while taking a " pain-killing " medication, thus rendering the treatment non-effective because of a temporary blockage/ shut-down of the receptors. So if we have an instance of motor and sensory neural degeneration, how might acu work? I understand the TCM definition of unobstructing channels, nourishing deficiency, etc. I was just interested if anyone has a strong medical background, and might be able to explain this And if you think I am thinking incorrectly, I appreciate the guidance. Thank you very much, Melanie
