Aristolochic Acid - Recall List and suspect products

Hi All,

 

I accept that some FANGJI and MUTONG products are probably safe if

used cautiously.

 

That said, http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/hot/media/media2003.asp says:

 

Where has aristolochia been found? The following herbs are at risk of

substitution with aristolochia species, and may be described as MUTONG or

FANGJI (a combination of herbs likely to include aristolochia).

 

The herbs are: Akebia, Asarum, Bragantia, Clematis, Cocculus, Diploclisia,

Menispernum, Saussurea, Sinomenium, Stephania and Vladimiria.

 

The following products may have MUTONG or FANGJI as declared

ingredients and may contain aristolochia:

 

Bazheng Wan

Chunyang Zhengji Wan

Dahuang Qingwei Wan

Danggui Sini Wan

Daochi Wan

Dieda Wan

Fuke Fenqing Wan

Jisheng Juhe Wan

Katkit Wan

Quell Fire

Shixiang Fanshen Wan

Xinyi Wan

aristolochic acids:
