Guest guest
For all fans of old herbal recipes: This one is from my translator in Chengdu during my 2004 visit, from her grandmother in Guangdong. Rx for headache pain. ai ye (2-3 plants tied up) orange tree leaf water to cover ingredients egg with silver inserted into it (intact in shell? silver kitchen knife?) It has to be silver so it turns the egg black. When water with herbs is boiling, drop the egg with silver into it. Then wrap the egg in a cloth which is soaked in the tea water and roll the wrapped egg around on the temples, GB 20, any points or areas associated with the headache pain. This is said to cause sweating, so one should have a towel handy. I welcome any corrections, clarifications, or similar remedies. Guest guest
one of our herb teachers, Sunny Chu, used to go back to China during the summers and treat patients and look for the old medicine docs for folk recipies. She has a ton! One of her gems she told us about for headaches was using pure copper, tape it on tai yang, and go to bed. Pennies wouldn't work since it wasn't pure enough. I find it interesting that in both stories, there seems to be a relationship with the metals and skin contact. It reminds me of a few years back when people were wearing those copper bracelets for pain control. Don't know if there's anything to it, but some people swore by it. Geoff , " Frances L. Guest guest
mulling over this mineral thing, might be interesting to read this fellow's page on headaches. http://www.acu-cell.com/dis-hea.html It tries to be an overview and nothing covers all the bases, but he has a potentially interesting take. But the copper ref below made me think of it, b/c he indicates copper and other minerals as being implicated in HA sufferers. I'd be interested if anyone has any comments on this piece. In any case, exploring the other pages of his site provides some interesting chew-toys, esp. w/ regard to minerals. Nice database in any case. ann On Dec 12, 2007, at 1:58 PM, G Hudson wrote: > one of our herb teachers, Sunny Chu, used to go back to China during > the summers and treat patients and look for the old medicine docs for > folk recipies. Guest guest
Ann Have you or anyone else used the acu-cell analysis? how do you order the tests, the site has no info Alon
Guest guest
Alon, No I have not used the analysis. I am new to exploring the site myself. I am suspecting that the test is done in the practitioner's office with the patient there. But aside from finding the author's name at the bottom of the pages with the copyright, I also do not see how to contact him. Rather odd. ann On Dec 13, 2007, at 12:58 PM, alon marcus wrote: > Ann > Have you or anyone else used the acu-cell analysis? how do you order > the tests, the site has no info > Alon > >
