10yr old boy left undescended testicle

Hi,

 

I am currently treating a young boy 1oyrs of age, with a left undescended

testicle.

 

I would like to hear your opinions on treatment of this condition, as only just

recently

graduated.

 

Case:

 

History: febrile convulsion as an infant, did suffer numerous fevers as a child,

last was

2006 sept/oct (spring time). Ear infection progressed to throat, energy levels

very low.

Low iron.

Had pneumonia 6yrs age

 

Left undescended testicle, groin (unsurfaced), no pain in groin, abdomen, no

itching, no

pain on pressure, no shooting pains.

 

Sleep: good, 8 hrs, mother says he's restless and heats up, night sweats chest

region.

 

Energy: 10am gets tired and 5pm gets tired. Feels tired when waking

 

Appetite: diet consists mainly cold raw foods, prefers cold drinks.

no phelgm, bloating after eating.

 

No s.o.b., tightness

 

B/M 1-2 days lightish colour. Urination 4x yellow and sometimes bright

 

T: purple body, red tip, swollen, thickish white coat, esp kid area.

Pulse: wiry lhs, right: sl rapid, wiry and deep kidney region

 

Dx: damp phelgm blockage lower jiao, liver qi stagnation- yin xu

Tp: drain damp t'form phelgm, resolve liver qi stag and nourish yin

 

Pts: st 30 , ren 4, kid 14, st 36 ®, kid 3 (left), sp 6, liv 3, liv 5 ®, sp

Herbs:

Ju he 15, hou pou 9, ban xia 9, wu yao 15, mu xiang 9, qing pi 15, bing lang 15,

fu ling 9,

tao ren 9, huang bai 9, rou gui 4, che qian zi 12, zhi mu 12, dan pi 9

I recently treated a young boy with cryptorchidism with success. I did

some research in Chinese magazines before I treated the boy. It seems

the consensus in China is that this is always a Kidney Jing issue,

with blood stasis and should be treated as such. The boy often felt cold.

The pediatrician was very reluctant to Chinese medical treatment and

said surgery was the only possible solution. The testicle descended

after six weeks of treatment- the pediatrician said it was pure

coincidence. However, I did get calls from other pediatricians that

wanted to know how the herbs had worked.

 

This was the formula I used (after researching);

lu jiao jiao 12

yin yang huo 9

ba ji tian 9

shu di huang 9

gou qi zi 9

san leng 6

e zhu 6

huai niu xi 6

wu zhu yu 9

bu gu zhi 9

ding xiang 3

li zhi he 9

chuan lian zi 9

When I was shadowing a teacher years ago, he worked

with a small child, probably under 2 years old, with

the same problem. He met a couple times a week and

gentling manipulated the testicle to help it decend.

He indicated they did this in China and it was all

manual. Hope that helps. I'm not sure at 10 years

old what the results would be.
