Guest guest
All, This is from my recently released book. It is from the Zhong Yao Da Ci Dian. There are several species of Hypericum used in Chinese medicine, I have included only the species from the monograph above. Guàn yè lián qiào (H. perforatum) is considered acrid, slightly bitter, and neutral. It clears heat and resolves toxin, astringes and stops bleeding, disinhibits dampness, and is used in the treatment of spitting blood, vomiting blood, intestinal wind with bleeding, bleeding due to external injury, wind-damp bone pain, mouth and nose sores, toxic swellings, and damage to the intestines due to fire. Very interesting discussion. I wonder when teaching a child to play piano if you teach him to play free jazz or Bach. Just wondering.
