Guest guest
any thoughts about the series of books from Academy Press (Xue Yuan)? I'm looking at the Diagnostics of TCM ISBN 7-5077-1271-0. There are a number of these in a series. Basics etc... They are large paperbacks, average China quality with the Chinese Text in the back. I'm pretty happy with the Diagnostics one. Guest guest
It's a text book from Beijing. The Chinese section in the back is 200 pages and the front English is close to 400 pages. It's not perfectly translated but it doesn't seem to be " holding back " as so many other books written with an English speaking audience in mind. My Chinese colleagues say the book is a " standard " textbook. Apparently before 1980 all schools in China had to use the Shanghai books but after that the many of the schools wrote and used their own books. It's probably a 2nd year text. I have a Basics book. As far as getting to " the source " it works best for me... having the Chinese in back, and working my way through, slowly, helps. Guest guest
Doug, I was under the impression that Practical Diagnosis (Deng) is also a " standard textbook. " How would you say these two compare? -Jason _____ On Behalf Of Tuesday, March 04, 2008 1:10 PM Re: translated book It's a text book from Beijing.
