Guest guest Posted May 3, 2008 Report Share Posted May 3, 2008 Zhi gan cao is where gan cao is wok-fried with honey, caramelized...until the stickiness is gone. Zhi gan cao supports the middle jiao, is more tonifying SP Qi and warmer than Sheng gan cao. It doesn't clear toxins/poisons or clear heat as much. There's good info in Sionneau's Pao Zhi book and the 3rd Ed Bensky MM.
