Guest guest
Hola Herbalistas! I've got a question for ya'll. On occasion, we have the opportunity to monitor (biomedical) pathological processes with lab tests. Perhaps you have a patient who has some sort of abnormal lab value and a diagnosed disease process associated with it. This disease has some symptoms and grossly observable signs, they all all add up to a particular TCM pattern. You treat it, the patient reports improvement, and you see it too in their objective signs. Did the lab values change? Or not? Next, that patient who's TCM syndrome improves but sees no improvement in lab values; do they continue to suffer from the disease that the lab values suggest? Or did the TCM intervention prevent exasperation of the disease process to which the abnormal lab values are assigned? I realize that these questions assume a lot of uniquely integrated conditions, but I'm asking myself about the TCM paradigm and whether following our rules with patients will result in new prognosis regarding " known " disease mechanisms in biomedicine. -- , DAOM Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
