Guest guest
Thank you, Steve. I would appreciate if you are able to check your notes or check with Dr. Tan Tan Huang if available. Any other information from anyone else would be appreciated. BTW, I wrote to Dr. Henry Lu, and exchange seems to indicate a completely different process. Here is our exchange: Yehuda Frischman: " In your book " Chinese System of Food Cures, " you discuss egg-yolk oil as a cure for varicose veins and burns. I had a patient try it and it just didn't work. The yolks became dryer as the dry fried rather than oil flowing out. Can you clarify how it needs to be done? " Henry Lu: " Did your patient try it for varicose veins or for burns and for how long in each case? " YF: " The problem was in the preparation of the egg yolk oil. My understanding was that that after being mashed, the egg yolks were to be dry fried, on a high flame, and as the mixture became dark brown, it would start to exude the oil. But that didn't happen, and the mixture just became dry. " HL: " You need to stir it very quickly before it becomes dried " So again, anyone have experience in the preparation and application of Egg-yolk oil? We used sesame oil and warmed it first then added two hard boiled egg yolks (eat the whites). We fried the yolks on med to med-high heat until a white light foamy substance appeared and continued heating until the yolks were brown and crumbling. I think this was used for skin problems (eczema) but, I would have to recheck my notes. I Hope this helps! I just give them Jing Wan Hong ointment for burns. Works great. - Bill Schoenbart , yehuda frischman <@.. .> wrote: > > Dear Colleagues, > > In Henry Lu's book on food cures, he mentionsthat egg yolk oil is a successul treatment for burns, skin ulcers and varicositites. To quote him, " to make egg yolk oil, boil about 5 to 10 eggs until hard-boiled. Remove the yolks and mash them thoroughly. Fry the yolks in a pan over high heat, stirring constantly, until they gradually turn very dark and close to black, as if the oil is about to flow out. Use a clean cloth to wrap the yolks an squeeze out the oil.
