Guest guest
Dear Tomas, Yes, that is my concern HOW to find the appropriate dose as the content of the alcaloids differ from habitat to habitat. I suppose the rest you wrote was some kind of joke (??). Are Thoresen Hi Are, I love aconite, although it was not in the preparation I was discussing about varicose veins, I I will do my best to answer your question in that context, which doesn't exist. The most important thing to remember about aconite is to start with a high dose and work your way down to a dose that doesn't kill you. After you have figured that out, sit in lotus position for three hours with the fresh flowers wrapped around your neck....from there the rest will be obvious... good luck...and oh, by the way, I have this really cool bridge to sell you, it will transport the medicinals from the earthquake epicenter in Sichuan straight to your front door....but be sure to read the contract, as there is nothing in it about actually delivering herbs. You can't avoid the alkaloids Are, you can only dose appropriately....the difference between anything being food/medicine and poison is dosage, after all you can kill yourself by drinking to much water....and I'm not talking about while drowning... That being said, of course there are paozhi techniques to reduce/eliminate the alkaloid content of fuzi. Guest guest
Are, Indeed, you got it, at least that is was some kind of joke. The point was that there was never any mention of using aconite...I only mentioned that I was in the Sierra-Nevada Mountains and saw a lot of it. That being said, I do use it and have for many years. I guess the only way to answer your question is by saying, there really is no way to be sure...there is plenty of data on dosage ranges and I have been using it for 15 years or so, thus I feel quite confident using it. BUT, this type of herbalism is not for everyone. So, if you are uncomfortable, don't do it. I personally like to use native, fresh, wild, vibrant plants when working with people and making medicines. I believe they make better medicines and are more effective. All the discussion of ratios of powdered extracts ( " granules " ) etc, means nothing if you start with poor product. I'm not suggesting anyone is doing that, however I can pretty much guarantee that the herbs I bring home from a trip to the mountains are far superior (in quality) to anything you can purchase in any Chinese herbal pharmacy. I won't get into the discussion of the vast amounts of resources being consumed to ship plant material from a warehouse in China around the world....but stop and think about it...kinda crazy, don't you think? Anyway, come to the States sometime and attend one of my trips to the mountains or desert or where ever I am going...we have fun, share, learn, and get an opportunity to connect with the plants while they are alive, and for anyone who doesn't think it will have an impact on your clinical reality...well, I challenge you to try it. Even planting a garden of medicinal plants, or at least having a few around might just change your perspective. Thomas BTW: There is a trip this coming weekend....Eastern Sierra...there may be a couple openings left...if your interested contact me.
