Thanks all for your posts a few months ago about study in China. I now

have the choice of studying in Nanjing or Shanghai. I know that

Shanghai is more expensive but thats ok. I was wondering if anyone had

experiences studying in these two cities. In Shanghai it would be at

one of the 3 teaching hospitals associated with the university. In

Nanjing it would be at the city hospital not the provincial. I have

heard that Nanjing is more " traditional " in its approach and Shanghai

has more western medical influence. I will be following a fertility

herbal practioner for a month or so. I am also interested in living

experiences in these two cities.

Thanks

Hey RIch-

I just spent a week with Dr. Huang Huang in Amherst, MA. He is an

herbalist from Nanjing and has a great perspective on things. I

think he would be a great person to study with and he has foreign

students come often, from what I understand. He uses classical

formulas from the Shang Han Lun and Jing Gui Yao Lue mostly. I had a

great time studying with him. You may want to ask others on the list

about him. Sharon Weizenbaum was our host in Amherst and she has

been to Nanjing to study with him.
