Guest guest
Hello all, I hope you can help me. I am treating a 60 y.o. woman for hypertension that stems from liver and kidney yin vacuity. He pulse is extremely wiry and rapid. Her tongue is very pale, swollen, teeth marks, center crack and white coating. She is also suffering from tremors in her right hand and right leg. I put her on Blue Poppy formula HyperQuell which contains: Hong Jin Tian (Herba Rhodiolae Roseae) Suan Zao Ren (Semen Zizyphi Spinosae) Tai Zi Shen (Radix Pseudostellariae) Gou Teng (Ramulus Uncariae Cum Uncis) Dan Shen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae) Huang Qi (Radix Astragali) Ge Gen (Radix Puerariae) Ci Ji Li (Fructus Tribuli Terrestris) Tian Ma Mi Huan Jun (Armillaria) Ju Hua (Flos Chrysanthemi) Fu Ling (Poria) Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Albae) Sheng Ma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae) And I also gave her Lui Wei Di Huang. Every time she takes any herbs or even vitamins she puts several inches on her waistline with absolutely no changes in her diet or activity level. A teacher of mine suggested to add wu ling san because he felt she was just retaining water. This did not help in the least. Her blood pressure did go down markedly with the two formulas but the patient is not willing to keep getting fatter and fatter. As I said, she also puts on weight just from taking vitamins as well. Can anyone give me some insight as to what may be happening and how to fix it? It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kimberly Marin AP, RD www.kimberlymarin .com Sunrise, FL

Perhaps this is a gut sensation hypersensitivity thing such as is found in IBS? My theory is that she's not gaining weight, but maintains this perception for whatever reason. Bloating and water can certain arise from herbs, vitamins, or food. But these are transitory things. Have you personally witnessed these changes in her size? -- , DAOM Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
Guest guest
Doesn't surprise me. I put on weight with tonics as well. I am currently trying to ignore my ever expanding waist line in hopes of getting pregnant at 41 years old (hence the need for tonics). I've seen this with other patients as well. Circulating the liver can help, and adding some Chen Pi. , " kimmymarin " <kimmymarin wrote: > > Hello all, > > I hope you can help me. Guest guest
no...this is not a perception. her clothes no longer fit her and the scale goes up. it is not bloating. there is no uncomfortable sensation. just the feeling you get when you have put on 10 pounds and your clothes are too small. this is real weight gain and not just water. , " Al Stone " <al wrote: > > On Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 9:18 PM, kimmymarin <kimmymarin wrote: > > > the patient is not > > willing to keep getting fatter and fatter.
