I used to use BIOMAIL at http://www.biomail.com

It allowed several specific profiles to be logged to one's account

and sent all abstracts automatically at whatever interval one

desired. I preferred weekly intervals. Unfortunately, BIOMAIL closed

its service as from end Sept 2008.

Now, BIOMAIL asks users of its old service to transfer their search

profiles to " My NCBI " .

First you MUST register at

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/myncbi/register/

and provide

Your preferred Username,

Your Password,

Answer to a Security Question,

and provide an e-mail address (if you want search results data

emailed to you).

Then login to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/myncbi/searches/ and

set up your Medline search profiles within your personal account.

If you have NO search proflie logged, " My NCBI " will ask you to do a

Medline (PubMed) search, for example:

(( " Plant Preparations " [MESH]OR " Medicine,Herbal " [MESH]OR " Plant

Extracts " [MESH]OR " Plants,Medicinal " [MESH]OR " Plants " [MESH]OR " Phytothera

py " [MESH]OR " Medicine,Traditional " [MESH]OR " Homeopathy " [MESH]OR " Ethnopha

rmacology " [MESH]OR " Phytosterols " [MESH]) OR(herb? OR herbal* OR

phytother* OR kampo OR Ayurvedic OR ethnopharmacol* OR ((Traditional

OR folk-medicin* OR healing) AND (decoct* OR infusion? OR tea OR brew

OR pill* OR powder* OR salve? OR ointment? OR paste))))

When you are happy with the search profile, click on the " Save

Search " link to the right of the Medline Search Box and follow the

instructions that return to the screen then.

You may log several profiles in this way, but each one must first be

done in PubMed, then saved to your account, as above.

This is a GREAT service to researchers, academics and clinicians.

Best of luck,
