Anyone know or have any literature explaining the reason for this

herbs ability to reduce sperm counts?

I cannot figure out if it is due to a cytotoxic or anti-androgen

effects or even some other route.

Thanks in advance,

Trevor

What was your source for the original issue of reduced sperm counts? I

have run across this but not the original source or study.

Chen and Chen mention it in their herbal text. They quote a chinese

study that I haven't been able to locate (in english anyways).

This is particularly interesting to me because Bai Hua She She Cao is

THE primary herb for the treatment of Acne, particularly hormonal acne

in a woman (working very well with PCOS), that I was taught and now

use. When I saw that it reduced sperm counts and lowered libido in

males, I have been assuming that its route of action is due to an

anti-androgenic effect,as this would explain it's wonderful effects

with Acne.

I was just putting it out there in hopes of finding some answers.

Cheers,

Trevor
