Guest guest
Hi All, For all you Mayway tea pills users: do you use the recommended dose on the bottle? I heard to increase the dose x2 or x3 the recommended. Is this consistent with others practice? I have seen better results dosing higher, so I want to make sure I'm using the Mayway products with that in mind. Thanks for any help you can offer, Dave Vitello
Guest guest
Bob Flaws might have mentioned in a couple of his books that he thinks that teapills should be dosed higher to reflect the dosing of decoctions, but I don't think he ever mentioned any single company. The recommended dose on the bottle is a safe dose. (usually 8 pills tid) I've noticed that about 12 Plum flower pills tastes as potent when it is boiled with water as a tang decoction with a standard dosage. The pills range from 5:1 to 13:1 in concentration. You can try it out for yourself... just boil the pills with a couple cups of water. They will boil down in 5 minutes. Do the taste test. Guest guest
Dosages are the recommended by the maker for the safest consumption. If you are willing to take responsibility for the higher dosages and they are more effective there is no reason not to. I often tell people to start at the label level and if it seems to be working then up the dosages. Conversely, I often find smaller dosages work just as well, IF it is the right prescription. Plus, I don't find many people will remember to take pills 3 times a day, so I ask they take more pills 2 times a day. Guest guest
For the small teapills, I prescribe 20 pills, 3 times per day. In cases like Wind Heat or Wind Cold, that might include three formulas. That would be a total of 60 pills, three times per day. Even at that dose, it's not as strong as a decoction. - Bill Schoenbart , " dmvitello01 " <dmvitello wrote: > > Hi All, > > For all you Mayway tea pills users: do you use the recommended dose on the bottle? Guest guest
I've found variations too. So I start someone on twice the recommended dosage for the first day dose to see the reaction, then hover near the 8 3xday. Depend also if its something expected to take time, like for deficiency, or to get rid of something transitory, or excess. Usually, it's 20 or so small herb pills 2x's a day. --- On Mon, 3/16/09, bill_schoenbart <plantmed2 wrote: bill_schoenbart <plantmed2 Re: Mayway Tea Pill Dosing Monday, March 16, 2009, 1:38 AM For the small teapills, I prescribe 20 pills, 3 times per day.
