Guest guest
Has anyone developed a system for pricing bags of bulk herbs that takes into account, to some extent, the range of costs of each herb? I am considering having cost categories. For instance: Herbs in category " A " cost me $3-8/lb. B Herbs cost $9-15/lb... Then multiply the number of grams by some number... Has anyone tried something like this? The $6/bag model isn't working so well for me. But this other model looks time-consuming. Guest guest
I usually see the $7 (or $6) a bag with a list of expensive herbs tacked on the price. Guest guest
That does seem like an easy way to take cost into consideration without over-complicating the process. Thanks, Marian , " " wrote: > > I usually see the $7 (or $6) a bag with a list of expensive herbs tacked on the price. > Doug > > , " Marian Blum, L.Ac., DNBAO " <chinesemed@> wrote: > > > > Has anyone developed a system for pricing bags of bulk herbs that takes into account, to some extent, the range of costs of each herb? Guest guest
When I was a student, packets of herbs were priced according to the number of herbs in the formula. Example: 6 herbs would be one price, 6-9 another, 9-2 another, etc. Sorry, I don't remember the dollar amounts, nor the exact correlating number of herbs per price bracket. Guest guest
I have been charging by the gram. I charge a flat 5 cents a gram. Most herbs cost me about 1 or 2 cents a gram. Some cost as much as 10 cents a gram. Overall I come out ahead. ~Mark Evans
Guest guest
I charge about $.15 per gram which is what retail sites charge if I am making up a formula. I also sell pound bags of herbs at twice wholesale. Karen S.
