Hello All,

This is part public service announcement, part request for help-

Plecodict (www.pleco.com) is an excellent Chinese-English Dictionary program

that runs on PDAs and some smartphones, and they have licensed Wiseman/Feng's

Practical Dictionary of from the folks at Paradigm.

The problem is that they have been so busy turning out a version of the program

that works on the iPhone OS that they have put off releasing the Practical

Dictionary for many months... I can't wait any longer! :)

So if any of you are interested in being able to carry around the PD in your

pocket please head over to www.plecoforums.com or send an email to the (very

responsive to feedback) head of the company ( mikelove ) asking them

to release the PD as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Henry

Hi Ann, thanks for writing Mike about it. I wasn't aware that the PD was so hard

to deal with (though it seems obvious now- the PD is more like an encyclopedia

than a simple dictionary!).

Unfortunately the clamor does not seem overwhelming ;), so I guess another

couple months of waiting are in order.

FWIW, the Pleco company will at some point be making a version of their

dictionary program that runs on desktop computers.

Regards, Henry
