Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Just got the mailer from Mayway saying that whole/bulk Semen Cuscuta chinensis [Tu Si Zi] is no longer available for sale in the US. Only thing I can dig up was that it was classified as a " Noxious Weed " by the USDA: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/plants/manuals/ports/downloads/m\ iscellaneous.pdf I attempted to search the threads from the last 3 months but couldn't find if there was anyone who already mentioned this. Any opinions from more experienced practitioners about this? Will this hurt anyone's practice or is it that there are enough medicinals that are suitable substitutes for Tu Si Zi? Thank you, Derek Doss, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.

Tu Si Zi remains widely available in granule form, the USDA is only concerned about the seeds sprouting and the plant invading local ecosystems. The extract powder is fine. I'd scoop some granules into the raw formula instead of trying to find a substitute. Eric
