Guest guest
Dear esteemed colleagues, I've noticed over the years that folks receiving acupuncture often experience itching in & around their nostrils about 10 minutes or so into their sessions. Does anyone have either a traditional or biomedical explanation? Is this just me? Blessings all, Della (GuruRas)
Guest guest
I think it has something to do with there being a sympathetic response of the erectile tissue in the nose. It isn't just you. It is also supposed to be a " tell " if someone is lying. When people lie the erectile tissue in their nose engorges and they consequently will rub their nose. Guest guest
Pinnochio syndrome the genitals and nose are the only places in the body with erectile tissue... some people sneeze when they think about sex! ...and then lie about it! http://www.mindhacks.com/blog/2007/12/from_the_nose_to_the.html K On Sat, Oct 10, 2009 at 6:46 AM, Sean Doherty <sean wrote: > > > I think it has something to do with there being a sympathetic response of > the erectile tissue in the nose. Guest guest
I've noticed the same thing, very often in fact. It happens to me as well. I see it as a sign of a good treatment. I always keep a nostril scratcher handy, as it is not a good idea to scratch one's nose with needles in one's hands. . Guest guest
That's interesting. I had just figured it was the body rebelling against having to lay still without moving (maybe... big maybe.. more to the controlling type of personalities). In Kung Fu class this would happen a lot in horse stance training and you weren't allowed to fidget or wiggle around - it was a mind vs. body competition. Any military people around? I bet standing at attention for a long time would trigger the same response. Geoff , <zrosenbe wrote: > > I've noticed the same thing, very often in fact. It happens to me as > well. Guest guest
one of my colleagues at school who is a nurse said they see it in patients in western med as a response to opiates (morphine etc.) - she theorized it was the natural opiates being produced by acupuncture in some peeps. AcuRn? are you reading this? k. On Thu, Oct 15, 2009 at 11:24 AM, yingsuke2002 <ozark.canuckwrote: > > > That's interesting.
