Guest guest
So, dialysis is on my horizon; next 12 months or less. If you all will send me any resources, thoughts, ideas - no idea too crazy - send 'em all, qi-gong, acupuncture, single herb uses, herbal formulas, and especially information on TCM and dialysis co-administration in China (or elsewhere the two are mixed), you will have my undying gratitude. Guest guest
I strongly recommend tincture of stinging nettle seed (urtica dioica semen). This can be purchased through Herbalist & Alchemist in New Jersey. You might also consider the Kidney Support formula available at the same site. David Winston has significant experience with this and I have followed in his footsteps (so to speak) and had very good success using urtica for kidney disease. There is brief mention of this and the root in my book with a full monograph of the leaf. The full monographs will be in the second volume in the works now. Also, I can recommend Jeremy Ross' book. It is incredible in its scope and detail. Although I have some issues with it I think it is an excellent resource. Guest guest
Joe, Sorry to hear about the dialysis. I seriously recommend your reading Blue Poppy Press's Chinese medicine & nephrology clinical manual. I'm sure you'll find lots of good info inside. www.bluepoppy.com or call Customer Service at 800-487-9296. Good luck & best wishes. Guest guest
Thomas and Cara and Bob, Thank you all very much for your help. I'm corresponding with your friend, Cara. Bob, the book is on the shelf in the school library. Thomas, I'm looking into urtica. I'll be posting on what I find useful and to pose more questions. Guest guest
Joe I'm very sorry to hear about your situation and wonder if I can help. I certainly wouldn't put myself forward as any kind of expert but I have been through years of kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation and used CM on myself, and others, for the last 23 of those. I have also translated quite a bit so if you want my opinion on any specifics please do ask. I imagine that if you have been told that you are less than a year from dialysis then you are feeling fairly rough. I think (and found) herbs are really useful for end stage failure so, again, if you want to give some details I will offer my penny's worth. Best wishes Simon , Joseph Balensi MS LAc <jlb wrote: > > So, dialysis is on my horizon; next 12 months or less.
