Guest guest
Can one of you scholars confirm that I have the right word here for this statement? It would save me much time and effort. And if not, what the heck is it? Thanks, Doug The spleen is zhiyin within yin and communicates with earth. & #28382; & #28139; zhìyín v. remain at a standstill
Guest guest
I'm not a scholar... Is the quote in question from the early issues of Su Wen? Su wen chapter 6.. " The root of Tai yin begins at Yin-bai (SP 1), which is called yin within yin... The parting and meeting of three yin meridians are such that Tai yin acts as the External gate, Jue yin as the internal gate, and Shao yin as the axis " Su wen chapter 4 verse 21 " Thus the back belongs to yang, the heart is yang within yang, the lung is yin within yang. the abdomen belongs to yin, the kidney is yin within yin, the liver is yang within yin, the spleen is the extreme yin within yin " Su wen chapter 7 verse 34 " Congestion of pathogenic Qi in the third yin (Tai yin) meridians (Lung and Spleen) will cause water diseases " (Henry Lu translation) Is zhi yin referring to Taiyin as Damp Earth ie stagnant yin? Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. Yes, Zhi Yin is translated as ultimate Yin. Confirmed by Elizabeth Rochat in her Wu Xing book. Indeed it is Chapter 6... according to the PMPH Fundamentals book it says (selected quotes), The Kidney is shaoyin within Yin, The lung belongs to greater Yin with Yang, The liver belongs to Shaoyang within Yang, The Spleen belongs to zhiyin within Yin.
