Guest guest
Hi All, & Doug, Display of Chinese characters within List emails can be problematic if listers use email software that cannot reproduce them. One way around this is to find the correct character strings on Google and turn the Google URL into a tinyurl, and return the tinyurl to the List. For example, to display the Chinese characters for Zhi-yin BL-67: Go to Advanced Google [ http://www.google.com/advanced_search ]. In the top search box [ " all these words " box], enter Zhi-yin BL-67 (using hyphens, as shown). Set the Language to Chinese (Simplified) and click on Advanced Search. This returns pages with those terms and with the Chinese characters usually close to the search words. Copy the Google URL into http://tinyurl.com and convert it to a tinyurl. This returned http://tinyurl.com/y96ypuc [see it]. If you KNOW the Chinese characters for Zhiyin in the example above, you can include them (in quotemarks) in the search terms and convert the returned Google URL to a tinyurl, for example http://tinyurl.com/y9hf4zk [see it] If you use Firefox as your Web browser, all search terms are highlighted so that you can find them quickly.
