Derek, Chinese names (Hanzi / Pinyin) for herbs can be a nightmare for

those who want to see a standard terminology used in CHM.

 

(a) Some specific Latin names have 2 to 20+ Chinese synonyms.

 

(b) Some specific Hanzi terms refer to 2 or more DIFFERENT herbs /

species;

 

© Some specific Pinyin terms, that are the same, have different Hanzi

characters and refer to 2 or more DIFFERENT herbs / species.

 

Specifically, Kudingcha has many synonyms (see below) and refers to at

least 2 different Ilex types (I cornuta and I latifolia).
