Guest guest
In a recent bout of flu sequellae, in addition to other herbal efforts, I mixed cinnamon powder and a ground-up Bronkaid tablet and found excellent lung-drying sudorific property, just as if I had used Ma Huang itself. This leads to the suggestion of dissolving a Bronkaid tablet in a decoction of the other ingredients of Ephedra-based formulae, whenever Ma Huang cannot be obtained. By sticking to normal dossages for the tablets, one can avoid over-dosing. This is a kind of expanded use of the doctrine of signatures: that you can take the ephedrine out of the Ma Huang but you can't take the ephedra out of the ephedrine. Perhaps this concept could apply usefully to a number of pharmaceutical products. Rebotanize? Carl
