Guest guest
Jason, Lonny answered his own question earlier, I think: " Destiny (ming) is given through the ascribing of name (ming) and enlightenment (ming) happens from waking up from sleep (ming) through meditation (ming) to see through the name (ming) to the light (ming) of destiny (ming). All different characters though. " So they are mandarin homophones. But they are different characters, and only some of them share the same tones...so not really the same pronunciation either. Its also my understanding that pinyin and mandarin are relatively recent developments- in fact at the time the old texts were written, many of these characters weren't even pronounced the same way. [not ming] So to make a connection between characters and interpret them based on the modern pinyin spelling [ming] seems wrong to me. Anyone that knows a little about Chinese language also knows this. Herman isn't this true? If there is another connection involving " multiple dimensions " I admit that I don't know about it. My translators here in China think this is quite amusing, - but then again they didn't study Taoist alchemy, just Chinese language and Chinese medicine.
