White It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of the great practitioners, scholars and teachers of complementary medicine in the United States. Dr. Kathryn P. White tirelessly dedicated her life to gathering and spreading knowledge of the world's ancient healing traditions. Through her influence and dedication countless people have been helped. White, Ph.D.* Kathryn P. White, Ph.D., D.H.M., L.Ac., was a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed acupuncturist, board-certified herbalist, doctor of homeopathic medicine and Ayurvedic medicine practitioner who practiced psychology and natural medicine in Beverly Hills and the Mount Washington area of Los Angeles. Dr. White served as President of the American University of Complementary Medicine in West Los Angeles, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology at UCLA Medical School, and Professor of Clinical Health Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology of Alliant International University. Dr. White earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, interned in clinical psychology at Harvard Medical School, and completed a clinical postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA Medical School’s Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital. She also earned a Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine from the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in the United Kingdom and interned in homeopathy in India. In addition, Dr. White completed a Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine degree at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica and interned in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.
