Guest guest
I was looking for a good rosacea topical and one of my TCM dermatology books (Manual of Dermatology in by Shen DeHui)has a formula that uses mi tuo seng. This is basically just a big hunk of lead oxide. I'm assuming that this is not an ingredient that anyone uses today? I'm wondering why it is in a modern clinical dermatology textbook. I'm sure it's because it's a translation of a premodern formula, but as the only scrip for rosacea in the book it seems a very curious inclusion. That being said, is there an ingredient that can be used as a substitute for mi tuo seng. I don't have the formula in front of me, but can post it if necessary when I get to the office. FTR, internally this patient presents as a liver yang rising pattern. Seemingly very calm and quiet with an explosive temper when tested. -Tim Sharpe
