Guest guest
hi everybody im jeff. im new ,.... im a raw foods vegan. (~3 years) just wanted to make that known in case anyone has any raw-specific questions or what not. in raw foods, " heating " is done with spices to offset the temperature and give the body a warm feeling without the significant loss of nutrients and food value attributed to cooking. nice to meet all of u jeff
Guest guest
Welcome, Jeff! It's nice to have you here - so don't run away just because you don't use a stove for your food preparation. I think several of us here might be very interested in what kind of things you like to make. Would you like to share a recipe? gf , " Jeff Gordon " <jsgordon420@h...> wrote: > hi everybody > > im jeff. im new ,.... im a raw foods vegan. Guest guest
Hello Nina, and welcome to Vegetarian Spice! We hope you will enjoy this list. It is still in its very early days (is three days old today!), but with great people such as the ones who have already joined I am sure it will prove to be interesting and helpful - and we should all make new friendes and learn new things. I'm going to let Jeff explain to you about his raw food diet - I don't do raw food (well, except for salads, as we all do), but yes, essentially it means food that you don't cook. The idea is to get the most nutrients out of your food. But Jeff has offered to answer queries, and I am sure he can explain it far better than I can ;=) Please keep on posting. It's nice to hear from you! gf (owner/moderator) , " jayanshul " <jayanshul> wrote: > --Hi > I am new to this group. > What does raw food mean? > No cooking ? > what is the taste like? > regards > nina > > > > - In , " greenfury2004 " > <greenfury2004> wrote: > > Welcome, Jeff! > > > > It's nice to have you here - so don't run away just because you > don't use a > > stove for your food preparation. Guest guest
Jeff: You asked for questions.. What benefits have you realized from raw? Since cooking kills some bacteria, do you do anything other than usual washing of fruits and veggies? Do you only buy organic? I hear that grains, ie: brown rice, need hours of cooking. Do you omit grains? I like the idea, but know little about it. I saw a couple named Jeff and Nancy on 3ABN TV--Food for Thought-- doing raw recipes. I think they come on tonight at 8:30 Central time..I plan to watch them more. Fill us in! Bobbi Jeff Gordon <jsgordon420 wrote:hi everybody im jeff. im new ,.... im a raw foods vegan. Guest guest
Jeff: I was wrong on the time of " Food for Thought " on 3ABN TV. It is today at 2:30 pm Central Time. I think they are on Sundays at 8:30 pm and Monday at 10:30 am Central time. I have only seen it twice, but it got my interest in raw/live foods.
