Guest guest
Sorry I didn't introduce myself right away. My name is Kelly and I am 41. I live in Ohio with my fiance Joel and my son Christopher, 17; as well as my 2 furbabies; Scooter, a 6 year old Morris the cat look alike and Cuddles, a 2 month old calico. Joel and I have 3 other children; Nikki, 21; Clifton, 19 and Antionette, 18. We also have 3 grandsons; Jason, 3; Anthony, 2 and Nathan, 6 months. We live in a small town west of Cleveland, but hope to someday move out to the country and have a small farm. Joel is an electronic engineer and I run a small business from our local flea market selling handmade soaps and bath salts. I started cutting out meat from our diets because my health was failing and there was no apparent reason for it. While I am almost totally vegetarian, Chris and Joel still want their meat. So, for the time being I will cook them meat (yuck) once or twice a week; usually chicken or seafood. I am always looking for new recipes and also new friends. Guest guest
Welcome, Kelly! It's nice to hear from you. I think you'll find some good recipes in our files section, including some that should suit your non-vegetarian family! We shall be putting more up there, of course, but this list as you see is still new ;=) Now that you have posted, please don't forget to drop a line now and then. And tell us what kinds of foods you like best! gf (owner/moderator)

But that's another topic. Yes, it has only been 3 months. Prior to that I was still eating chicken and pork often, cheese and eggs occasionally, but I was not eating red meat or milk. It is actually much easier than I could have imagined. I actually enjoy eating now more than ever, and I feel much better as a result. I have lost 50 lbs since October 2003; the last 15 lbs of which came after converting to a Vegan diet. Many of my recipes are adaptations of older meat based recipes. I must also say that the cookbook, " Vegan Planet " by Robin Robertson is excellent and it has given me many new ideas. I will share some of them soon. Guest guest
Well that's great - losing weight, feeling better, enjoying food even more *and* doing without harming animals or the environment ;=) A good three-months' work, I'd say! Yes, _Vegan Planet_ is great - and I like _The Garden of Vegan_ too, although right now I am only using it for breads, etc. since we eat - as we have for years even before we were vegetarian - mostly asian food, with excursions into Italian and occasional Lebanese, Greek, oh and and and. Well, you get the picture. *Spicy* is what I mean. But I am going to look for _Vegan Planet_ - I've received some nice recipes from there via friends in the past ;=) Not that any recipe stays the way it was intended for long in our house . . . *lol* ciao! gf , " saedric " <saedric> wrote: > Yes, it has only been 3 months.
