Guest guest
Another Off Topic post from yours truly ;=) Lovely sunny morning here which reminds me that many of you are avid gardeners and will be looking forward to a weekend digging around etc. (Not me, I'm afraid: I'm gonna have to learn how to grow veggies in a balcony pot - a whole different topic! ;=)) A member has kindly passed this link on to us. Be warned, it is *not* vegetarian-friendly, but it has some very very nice garden sections which should be helpful to many ;=) Just ignore all that stuff that offends, as you have to do so often, okay? And if anyone thinks this link totally inappropriate to this group, please feel free to email me privately, okay? greenfury2004 Cheers everyone. gf ===== gf ----- 'My hair is gray, but not with years, / Nor grew it white / in a single night.' Guest guest
I grew a very successful container garden several years back. I bought #10 cans of tomatoes (had loads of tomato sauce & veggie stew, lol), saved them, poked holes in the bottom & had them on my deck. Loads of herbs, tomatoes, flowers, cukes - I don't even remember what else at this point! It was actually easier because there was basically no weeding! Good luck! Guest guest
What a great idea, Beth ;=) I like it because it recycles the cans and prevents the unnecessary purchase of . . . . blah blah blah *lol* We use tomatoes daily - crazy about them - so that'd be no hardship for us. And of course at certain times of the year it is more practical to buy them in cans - especially for some dishes. Shall chat to you later, maybe? It's a bit late to start now, I guess, and we have just moved in the last two months so . . . But for sure I am going to try it!!! We haven't had a balcony in ages, and now I have one at the front *and* back. Dunno what the squirrels and neighbourhood cats will make of my growies, but we'll see ;=) Thanks for the support!
