Guest guest Posted June 22, 2004 Report Share Posted June 22, 2004 Spicy-Sweet Melon Salad Ingredients The longer this salad sits and the flavors meld, the spicier it gets. 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1/2 small jalapeño pepper, thinly sliced 2 cups cubed honeydew melon 2 cups cubed peeled cantaloupe Procedure Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat; add pepper. Chill. Combine sugar mixture, honeydew, and cantaloupe in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Serve with a slotted spoon. Guest guest Posted June 26, 2004 Report Share Posted June 26, 2004 Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to this :=( I thought I had responded, but the evidence is definitely otherwise *lol* Thanks so much for this recipe - I can see many of us turning to it in the hot weather days (at least in the northern hemisphere!) that lie ahead. It's unusual - I like that - and incredibly simple!
