Guest guest
Welcome to new members ;=) Please forgive me for 'doing' all seven at once, but it's easier on all our mailboxes! I'm Pat, founder/owner/hostess/dogsbody of this list and its co- moderator with Mark. I am currently living in Canada with my dh, our two beagles and their cat - just moved this spring to Montreal from London, Ontario. Please, everyone, check out the webpage - lots of recipes in the Files, useful Links, some Photos that members have put there, and there's a Poll you will want to cast your vote in ;=) We hope you have a good time in the Vegetarian Spice kitchen! And now, to welcome each of you: Hi Susie, I like Thai foods too - as you'll have heard by now! The curries are great and, if you're really feeling like something light the stir-fries - I like the ones with basil especially - are wonderful too! Hello Ben - I think you will find lots of members who like to do Mexican and TexMex cooking! You should be right in your element here - and since you like breakfast you'll want to look at some of the fiery breakfast dishes we have listed in the Files! Welcome Debbie - another Thai food enthusiast! I hope you'll have lots of recipes to send us from your work with your group there in Arizona. Don't forgeet, tho, that these recipes cannot be sent on without permission ;=) Hello Joel too - another long-term veggie! I'm rather hoping you've got some good Szechuan and Hunanaese dishes among your Chinese recipes! Hi Meg! Sorry you've been feeling unwell - and tough about the diabetes. It will be a challenge to find really nice dishes that you can have on your diet. Let us know the kinds of things you are looking for, okay? Anyway, welcome back to veggieland/vegetarianism ;=) Hello to Linda - just on her way towards a vegetarian diet ;=) Toronto is a great place for finding good veggie food, as you'll be discovering - and quite a few vegetarian restaurants (as well as some very veggie friendly) to enjoy too! Just ask about anything you need to know while you're learning - we have lots of people here who can help out! Hi Trinity ;=) You say you're tired of eating plain vegetables - well, no wonder! But there are wonderful things you can do with vegetables and they really reward you for treating them properly! So have a look through our Files and see all the good things we have here ;=) Vegetables are the main event in a vegetarian diet - not a side dish - and there are lots of good fake me*ts these days that you can put with them when you want to try to recreate those German and Irish dishes you sometimes feel nostalgic for (although we might not have those exact recipes here, since they don't usually include hot spice). Best to you all, Pat ;=)
