Dunno about US import law :=) - but curry leaves can be grown in the USA I imagine since I was growing some last year - in a plant pot ;=) Curry leaves are a sort of addition to curries - like adding a bay leaf to some European stews or kaffir lime leaves to some curries. They are not hot and do not substitute for any mix of curry spices, wet or dry, home made or commercial. You might add a handful of, say, 10 to what you're cooking, depending on the recipe. I think you'll find we've had this discussion on this list before :=) But I can't quite remembeer when and am reluctant to do a search. Maybe it was another list anyway! Best, Pat ;=)
