There's a great vegan butter spread that I was introduced to in San Fran called Earth Balance. I was pretty impressed. Tastes and melts and uses like butter, but isn't. I'm usually a hardcore butter user, but I'm going to try this for awhile...I'm trying to cut most of the dairy out since it bothers my stomach... Earth Balance is great - we have used it for years now and although this household is technically ovo-lacto there's no way we would go back to butter after having this margarine or whatever you want to call it ;=) - it calls itself a buttery spread. Best, Pat ;=)
Guest guest
Earth Balance seems to be made by the makers of Smart Balance, which I've used and like. Thanks. I'll look for Earth Balance at the supermarket. Btw, I live in Kentucky.
