Guest guest
and I myself would be most reluctant to enter into a > debate of this sort with a non-vegetarian ;=) We are what we are (to slightly > paraphrase Popeye - LOL) . . . . Whoops! Let me rephrase that. I mean to say that I *personally* would be reluctant - and the reason would be that I'd be likely to start preaching (to use someone's term recently made) reasons for vegetarianism - or to feel bad about myself or my friend with whom I was discussing/arguing. I imagine that this could be argued quite well by someone other than myself ;=) - argued as in explained, defended, pros and cons laid out, etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah LOL These discussions can get pretty heated too ;=) But I suppose, hypothetically speaking, if you could get around someone's reason for vegetarianism by means of science, it might change things. If one hates the taste of me*t, then science only has to take the taste out of it (Sheeesh, some people say they've done that already!) If the objection is pain and suffering, then get rid of that. If the issues are about taking a life, then you've got to get around that (and define life, which gets one into a whole different discussion), and if it's health - oh dear, then you've got a lotta work to do!!! As for religion and personal philosophy - which may overlap into some other categories, of course - I'm leaving that well alone. Just me. Pat ;=)
