Guest guest
Hi Dani - We hope you enjoy our group. We have wonderful vegetarian recipes here - and wonderfully helpful members ;=) We also have lots of 'heat' from spicy in this kitchen - although those who don't like so much can always risk inauthenticity and cut them back further - but you say you like it hot, sooo ;=) You say: >I'm actually also trying to avoid heavy starches. I don't eat pasta, rice or any >form of bread, including breading. Well that might be a bit of a challenge for you if you want to use the recipes on this list ;=) Soups and salads, maybe? Because most spicy dishes are nicely balanced by the rice or noodles or bread (whether naan or tortilla) that accompany them, both in terms of taste and nutrition. However, I'm sure you'll find a way ;=) >I've lost quite a few pounds that way, Congratulations - that is to say you don't sound unhappy about having lost weight and you are continuing to cut out starches (why them? oh never mind, I think I know! ;=)) so I assume that you are pleased! That's great. This isn't set up as a health or nutrition list, but I have to say be careful of your nutrition without the grains. >along with no red meat. LOL You'll get no argument about that here ;=) This is a vegetarian group and we have no meat of any kind here - red or otherwise - including no poultry, no fish or so-called seafood/sealife; although some members are also vegan, dishes with eggs, dairy and/or honey are permitted. So look around, ask around. I'm sure you will find something of interest - and the chat, though occasional on this list, is great too LOL Best, Pat ;=)
