Almond Yumm

3 cups organic almonds(soak in water 8 to 12 hours)

3 to 5 cloves of garlic depending upon taste

Juice of 2 lemons

1 cup organic tahini

1/4 cup liquid aminos, or Nama shoyu\

Place aall ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. This is

wonderful on crackers or as a dip. Goes good with onion crackers.

Really good for you too!!!

This is wild, Mark! thanks so much - I love almonds - and tahini - and this

would be sooooo good.

As for the soup recipe you just posted, I'm off to find some nice avocadoes! ;=)

Best love,

Hi All...

So I tried making the Almond Yumm today, and almost wore out my

cheap-a** blender doing it (I really do need to get a new one!)...but

I did add some spices to it (cumin and chili powder and tons of

garlic)...it came out chunky though because my blender started smoking

at that point so I had to stop *laugh*...at the initial taste, I

wasn't too thrilled (it didn't taste bad really...I think it was

because it was just different, you know?) but I'm going to let it sit

so the spices can mingle, etc and I'll report back...

oh, and I started using rice noodles the other day at home, and man,

are they better than the instant crap I've been eating......:)

Gina,

So delighted that you made and reported back on your attempts

at making the almond yumm. Did you let the almonds soak enough? I

found that by not letting them soak enough that sometimes happens.

YOu might try a vita mix for making it, that is what I use. Very

powerful and works wonderfully. They are expensive though. Sorry

about the blender!!! MARK

yeah, I let them soak overnight (I sleep long during the week,

so)...I've had issues with the blender for awhile now...I love my

parents, and I'm glad they got me a blender when I asked for it,

but...*grin*

I was thinking though, that I like my hummus a little chunky too, so

we shall see...I may try it with those tacos I think you posted

(right?)....have you ever added any other spices to it?
