This looks wonderfully tasty and, as you say, easy too ;=) But I'll bet our

members would be somewhat stumped at the following:

>Make mustard vaggarini(vagar) and pour it in the salad bowl.

Could you perhaps explain this part? Many thanks!

Best,

Pat ;=)

sorry...i thought the members would be well acquainted with the spices and

stuff.

ok. you take about one to one and 1/2 (see...like that) tsp. of black mustard

seed (they MUST be black...can be purchased in most indian or oriental spice

stores) and about 1 tbsp. of oil (i ALWAYS use peanut oil when i'm cooking

indian food). put oil in small saucepan and turn on the heat, tap your right

foot whilst waiting for the oil to heat ;o)....when you begin to see a slight

wisp

of smoke--steam--whatever...small wisp, then you throw the mustard seed

into the saucepan and use a spoon (preferably wooden or plastic spoon) just

to spread seeds out so they're all on one level. then, again, tap your foot,

left

one, this time...and very soonly, you'll begin to hear little pops (sorta like

when you pop popcorn in the nuker)...when you hear more pops, REMOVE

POT FROM HEAT!! allow to cool for about 1 minute (tap both feet) and then,

oil and seeds all, pour atop the kosambari. mix it well and top with coconut

(here again, i don't use the type you use for cakes...too sweet...i use coconut

kernels which i buy at spice store (even here in new hampshire we have one

like that). i buy a BIG BAG for about $1.99 and keep in the freezer until i

need it again. it stays frozen beautifully. ;o)

hope this is better?

Okay ;=) got it now. Have put it together with the recipe.

Well, not of every spice and in every cuisine LOL We try to make each recipe

complete in itself ;=) so that everyone can try any recipe, regardless of

whether they've ever tasted that kind of food before. What we all have in

common here is being vegetarian, including vegans and rawfoodists, and

liking SPICE!

But this is great. Easy, quick, and oh so tasty for a snack! I can see people

all

over the place getting positively addicted to this dish!

Best,

Pat ;=)
