thank you for your warm welcome. yes...just barely got my name

in before i wrote that message and i was delighted to see the

moderator/owner is so responsive!

my REAL name is gypsy (truly) and i live in new hamster

(or...new hampshire as they call it...just easier to call the folks

who live here as new hamsters instead of new hampshire-ers?).

at any rate, i LOVE to cook...one of my favourite past times any

more...it used to be gardening until i became handicapped and

can no longer function outside (sniff). oh well...life goes on.

i had been married to a man from south india for almost two

decades living in a horrible little place called utah where, at the

time, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get any of the ingredients or cooking

pots....so, i improvised A LOT!! ;o) since he was(is) hindu,

vegetarianism was the way i learned to cook and it was just fine

with me.

although i am no longer married to heem ;o)), i still cook indian

food, just with a little less spice as i live with my 90 yr. old mom

and my darling husband, jon. both of them are a bit stymied by

my cooking style...but they'll generally eat it if i keep it mild

(shhhh---but i generally put in more and more as time goes

by...and they're getting used to it bwhahahaha).

i am very happy to be in this group....it's like coming home...dya

know?

oh!! my background, yes? i grew up in new york city where,

everyone knows, you can get anything from anywhere in the

world...even BEFORE the internet!! i left nyc and moved to utah,

but that's only because like most people who are schooled in

nyc schools, i didn't know nuttin about anything west of the

mississippi. i survived almost 2 decades of utah. i have a 27 yr.

young son who is married and lives, currently, in chicago...he's

kind of a professional student, so they move a lot...and then,

because of our terrific economy, he is totally unable to find a job.

at any rate, that's prolly more than you wanted to know, but now

you know me well. ;o)

thanks for listening.

sincerely,

gypsy
