Guest guest
Okay now ;=) while we're on the subject of making it easier for people with Macs to be able to read messages, and for international members to be able to understand each other's measurements, may I please put in another word for international members. This is an international list and a very large problem is created if members refuse to trim their messages. Even including just the previous post in its entirety is thoughtless. Not only is it difficult to read a digest (one line, say, above - or gee whiz is it below? - a long previous post is often lost when scrolling), but it adds time to the downloading of mail. This is difficult for those who have to pay for their online time by the minute. When one has this kind of dial-up service, one accesses email and quickly downloads it and gets the heck off line to read it - even though very often each and every 'phone call' may also be charged. So please, everyone, put only that part of a previous message in *your* message that is necessary for us to make sense of what you are posting about. Okay? If responding to a recipe, a single message of 'Yummmm' or " Looks good!' - rather pointless I often think, but still it probably lets the poster know someone has at least bothered to read the recipe ;=) - should not be tacked on to the entire recipe! (In a case like that, if you really MUST do it, the subject line lets us know what everyone is applauding ;=) I know I don't always remember to trim messages either - but let's all try, okay? And this message is not not NOT directed at any one person - regardless of where 's computer places it in the archives ;=) It's just something that I thought of following on the above discussion, that's all. Many thanks. Pat ;=)
