Cucumber and Onion Salad

This recipe has been in the family all my life. My mom is of Swedish

background. We had this, pickled herring and ……

Lutefisk …. Eeeeewwwww !!!!! Uff da … at all the holiday family

meals.

6 large cucumbers pealed and sliced very thin

3 med. onions sliced very thin, and left in rings

2 ½ cups cider vinegar

2 cups water

½ cup sugar

½ tsp. pepper and 1 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients in a gallon jar and refrigerate overnight.

Hello, I'm very interested in making this recipe. But the fractions you typed

for

measurements do not display correctly on my computer.

Could you please repost this recipe and type the fractions manually? In other

words, type a

number 1 followed by a slash / and then a number 2 if the measurement is 1/2.

If you're selecting the fraction from a pop-up menu, or typing it by holding

down the

control key and pressing another key, you're typing a custom character that is

specific to

your PC. Won't display correctly on my Macintosh.

Thank you,

Laurie

Thanks - it's very like a recipe I grew up with - and my mother is English ;=)

Who'd'a thunk it, eh? It is so simple, yet so fresh and good.

Good, that is, without the f*sh - for vegetarians! LOL

Thanks!

Best,

Pat ;=)
