Guest guest Posted December 15, 2004 Report Share Posted December 15, 2004 Hi all, this is a curry recipe from a book by Purobi Babbar, which my friend brought me back from India...... 1 small cauliflower, seperate the flowerettes. 3 medium potatoes, cubed. 1/2 cup of peas. 100 gms french beans, cut into 1 inch pieces. 1 medium onion, chopped. 6 green chillies,chopped. 3 red chillies,1 tsp of cumin seeds,8 peppercorns,4 cloves,1 " piece cinnamon, 2 green cardomoms and 1 tsp coriander seeds- dry roasted and ground to a smooth paste with a little water....3 tsp. 2 bay leaves. 1/2 cup of ghee or oil. chopped coriander leaves. *heat ghee or oil and fry cauliflower, beans and potatoes until light brown. remove from heat and keep aside. *fry onion, chillies and bay leaves separately. add beans, cauliflower, potatoes and peas. mix well. *add all ground spices which have been made into a paste, stir well and fry over low heat for 10 - 15 mins. *add 2 cups of hot water, cover and simmer over low flame for another 10 mins untill gravy is thick. *remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped coriander.
